Ross Norman, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Western Ontario. Dr. Norman completed his undergraduate studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland and his graduate studies at the University of Michigan. His career has included clinical positions in general hospitals, a large psychiatric hospital and community mental health programs. He is currently a consultant to PEPP. His research and that of his colleagues focuses on the effects of stress on psychiatric illness, particularly psychosis and the evaluation of innovative approaches to treatment and service delivery in psychiatry. This research has been supported by Health Canada, Ontario Mental Health Foundation, Canadian Psychiatric Research Foundation, the Scottish Rite Schizophrenia Program and the Medical Research Council.
